Symbologist Robert Langdon opened his eyes in a hospital room in Italy with stitches on his head and memory loss. He had woken up with a nightmare. It was as if he was living in hell in his dreams. When he came to, he didn't know where he was. A doctor came into his room and checked him. The doctor asked him what he remembered. Langdon couldn't remember anything. The doctor told Langdon that the head injury was not the result of a fall, but that the bullet had grazed his head. The police who would later come to meet Langdon was actually someone who had come to kill Langdon. And he killed the nurse. The doctor closed the door and locked it. Langdon began to flee the hospital with the doctor's help. They found a taxi and got on it and fled. Meanwhile, Langdon's mind was replaying the nightmare he had had. The doctor took him home. When the doctor came to the emergency room, he said he kept repeating a word. And he asked many more questions to Doctor Langdon. But Langdon didn't know the answer to any of the questions. Langdon had constant hallucinations. He was hallucinating due to head trauma. Langond accessed his mail from the doctor's computer and read that he was after something called paradise twenty-five. Langdon checked the pockets of the jacket and found a biotube with a symbol on it.

A genetic engineer named Bertrand, who thinks that the end of humanity will come due to the increase and growth of the world population, has made a virus that will cause infertility. Since Lagdon had a fingerprint reader on the tube, he had the tube scanned to see if it was his own. The tube has been opened. Inside the tube was a three-headed man-eating demon carved into human bone. When he shook the bone, something like a projector came out. The picture projected on the wall from the projector was Dante's hell. Then Langdon called the consulate. The consulate knew about the tube. He said the name of the hotel, which was visible through the window when they looked out of the house. There was some text in the picture projected from the projector. And in this text was the surname of the genetic engineer. They did some research on him. And a few days ago he found out that he had committed suicide. The police who had come to kill Langdon at the hospital had arrived at the hotel. He could no longer trust the consulate. When Langdon examined the painting, he said that the order was incorrect and assigned a letter to each sin. The doctor said he was making an anagram. At that time, several cars had arrived in front of the hotel. Langdon was trying to decipher the anagram.

Langdon finally understood why he was in Italy. There were still men sent by the consulate after them. They somehow managed to dodge the men. But this time, the police were after them. They started running. A drone was following them. They went down the stairs and entered through a door. They proceeded through the door they had entered and came to a museum. Langdon began examining a painting in the museum. The painting was the same as the hallucination he was seeing. Then Langdon began to think about the sentence Bertrand had added to his map of Dante's Inferno. Langdon told the doctor he had something injected into his vein. Langdon thought he was a carrier. At the museum, a woman started talking to Langdon. The woman in the museum, the doctor, and Langdon began following the woman in the museum. He was telling them something. He was going to show them the death mask. But when they left, the mask was not there. It was stolen. The mask had an owner. He had allowed the museum to display the mask. The mask owner was a genetic engineer named Bertrand. They were watching the cameras to find the person who stole the mask.

Langdon and a friend had bought the mask. When those who followed them came to the museum, they were secretly looking for a way out of the museum. They were closing the museum so that they could not escape. But what they didn't know was that there were secret doors in the museum, and Langdon knew one of them. He used that door. The director of the museum was showing the secret doors to the men from the consulate. The men were searching inside those secret doors. He thought they were going down. Langdon guessed this, so they went upstairs. They moved on the boards. The doctor slipped from the boards and fell to the ground. There was a sound, and the woman following them heard it. He had found his place. He started shooting Langdon with the gun in his hand. The doctor hit her on the foot and she fell from above. The boards broke and she fell dead in the middle of the museum. The men below saw Langdon and the doctor. He knew where they were going. Langdon and the doctor went outside. They tried to blend in with the crowd. They walked away from the people…
