Jack Torrance had gone for an interview to start a job at the Overlook hotel. The hotel manager greeted him and gave the necessary information. He saw the old woman, dead and blood dripping from her hand. When the woman saw Danny, she started walking towards Danny. Danny started running. But when he got to the door, the door was locked. He remembered what Mr Hallorann had said. He closed his eyes and realized that the door was open. He opened the door but the woman caught up with him and choked him…
