Personnel empowerment is the training of personnel working in any sector or any field, or training or informing on the development of their knowledge and skills abilities. It is the work to increase or develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of the working personnel. Personnel empowerment is a view that allows working personnel and authorized persons to make decisions within their own business areas in cooperation and mutual trust. By aiming to make the personnel more competent and effective, it aims to make the personnel more knowledgeable and more effective in the field or sector in which they work.
Employee empowerment develops personnel in every sense and in every way, aiming to emphasize self-confidence, desire or effort to progress, self-development, risk-taking and self-expression skills. At the same time, the personnel working in this process also need motivation and support. Because motivation enables one or more people to take action towards different or the same purpose and accelerates their movements. In order for the personnel to increase their motivation as well as their working performance, they must be provided in appropriate conditions. It is of great importance how the personnel working in personnel empowerment will manage and control themselves. Because personnel empowerment is in the control of personnel and the purpose of personnel empowerment is for personnel to develop themselves and to take the necessary decisions in their own fields accordingly.
Employee empowerment is the practices and conditions that enable the employees to do work that increases their motivation, confidence in their knowledge and abilities, wants to take action by using their discretion, increases their belief that they can control events, and that they find meaningful and compatible with the goals of the business. In order for the personnel empowerment process to be successful, there must be a vision in the enterprises, the personnel must be given training opportunities and the factors that will prevent the empowerment must be removed.
